The paleo diet is simple, it just prescribes that humans eat as their earliest ancestors did, the way nature intended us to eat. You eat only whole foods, nothing that is packaged or manufactured. By eliminating processed foods, foods that cause inflammation, you will be headed towards better digestion, absorption of nutrients, less joint pain and better sleeping habits.

Some people find that this can be tough at times, especially during the first 7 to 10 days.  If this diet is a drastic departure from what you currently fuel your body with, you will likely find that you are hungry, have cravings and can feel sluggish but with a stable commitment to this new diet, we can assure you that this is temporary and you will soon be feeling the benefits and a new found sense of energy and overall wellness. Think of it as a detox of sorts.

You will not have to count your calories, measure your food, or keep track of what you eat simply because everything you put in your body when you follow this diet is healthy.

The Paleo Diet Basics

MEAT

Beef, Lamb, Chicken, Turkey, Pork, Duck, Bacon, etc..

FISH AND SEAFOOD

Salmon, Trout, Haddock, Shrimp, Shellfish, etc. Choose wild-caught when possible. 

EGGS

Choose free-range, pastured raised if possibl

VEGETABLES

All Vegetables.  Fresh or Frozen.  Avoid canned.

FRUITS

All Fruits.  Fresh or Frozen.  Avoid canned.

TUBERS

Sweet potatoes, Yams, Turnips, etc. 

NUTS AND SEEDS

All nuts and seeds except those that are considered legumes like peanuts. Almonds, Macadamia nuts, Walnuts, Hazelnuts, Sunflower Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds and more. 

SPICES

Sea salt, Garlic, Turmeric, Rosemary, etc. 

HEALTHY FATS AND OILS

Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Coconut oil, Avocado oil and others. 

BEVERAGES

Water, Unsweetened tea, unsweetened coffee.

NON COMPLIANT FOODS AND BEVERAGES

Alcohol, Dairy, Sugar, Grains, Legumes.
